Army of Robots

I don't exactly recall what it was that Mohandas was reprimanded for, but it was the reaction that was golden. My little emotional fearless flier came undone about something about a month ago and stormed out of his room with the following prelude to the super-villain punchline:

"That's it (it's always "it" with him)! I'm leaving this earth..." he stormed out. I knew he would come back, so I waited for the rest of the short monologue to return (and he is like a short monologue). After a few moments, his footsteps crescendoed back into the room and he continued, "and I'm coming back with an army of robots and destroying everything!"

After thinking about it, he finally took it all back, but the moment and memory, priceless. In honor of such an evil monologue for a 5 year old, please enjoy the following video:

It's Wednesday. And my wife likes Wednesdays... Ask her why and she'll answer, "he's got his business socks on!" That's right! I gots them on... And it's Wednesday, and Wednesday is business time!

My first blog MUST be christened by the following account:

It snowed on Thanksgiving day 2007. My kids were glued to the window impressed by the weak flurries that constituted the first Chicago snow, as my better 3/4 and I shared in their excitement. Now, now- not "weak" to disrespect the capacity of CHI weather, just to set the er, setting...

So there they were, glued to the window and ready for snow fights and angels while waiting for the fulfillment of the promise their father had made them (me) of being able to play outside once it stopped snowing. However, like I said nothing stuck...

So about one hour after the moment it started to snow my rather eccentric 5 year old boy, Mohandas, walks up tp me after having been appalled by the sight of no snow outside and said,

"THAT'S IT PAPI, I'M THROUGH WITH YOU,"

as he crossed his arms and waved them back open like an umpire calling the efforts of a sprinter to second base worthwhile. "You let the snow melt outside," he continued, "and now we can't play in it..." Then he stormed off...

This was awesome.

He got over it, eventually. Now he's up to his knees in snow...
